This reversible bag is inspired by the traditional Japanese Kinchaku bag (巾着) — a drawstring pouch once used in daily life because kimono had no pockets. In the past, kinchaku carried personal items such as coins, cosmetics, or small keepsakes, and were often seen in the hands of geishas as elegant accessories during festivals and special occasions.
Reinterpreting this timeless design, the bag features two sides: authentic Japanese cotton fabric with retro floral patterns on one, and luxurious Italian black nappa leather on the other, adding a modern and refined twist.
Slightly wider and lower than the original all-fabric kinchaku, this design balances heritage and contemporary craftsmanship, making it a versatile and unique accessory for day or evening wear.
